Can I write on vinyl labels?

We don't recommend it. Vinyl labels have a smooth, laminated surface, so most pens smudge or don't stick. For handwriting, choose uncoated Kraft Paper labels.

Handwriting on vinyl labels

Vinyl labels have a smooth, sealed surface with a laminate on top. That's great for printing your design in full color, but it's not made for writing by hand. Regular pens and markers may smudge or not stick at all.

Need to add handwritten details?

If you want to add batch numbers, dates or notes by hand, choose Kraft Paper labels instead. They're uncoated, so you can write on them, and they're still durable. See can I write on Kraft labels?.

Need unique info on every label?

If each label needs its own number, code or date, you can have it printed with Variable Data Printing instead of writing it by hand.
