Can I write on Kraft labels?

Yes. Kraft Paper labels are uncoated, so you can write on them with a pen, pencil or marker.

Writing on uncoated Kraft Paper labels

Kraft Paper labels have no laminate or varnish on top. The textured paper surface takes ink and pencil easily, so you can add handwritten details after printing.

Good for

  • Batch numbers and expiration dates

  • Personal notes and signatures

  • Jar labels for food, handmade goods and limited editions

Will the writing last?

Kraft paper is durable, so your writing won't easily smudge or fade. Since the paper is uncoated, keep it away from heavy moisture. See are Kraft labels waterproof? for more.

Need to write on a different label?

Coated labels, such as vinyl labels with a laminate, are not made for handwriting. Read more in can I write on an uncoated label? and in the Dictionary.
